Students Demand NEET-MDS 2025 Exam Center in Imphal, Citing Accessibility Issues

Feb. 21, 2025: A collective voice of concern has emerged from the student community in Manipur, as aspiring dental professionals advocate for the establishment of a NEET-MDS 2025 examination center in Imphal.

Students who have successfully completed their BDS courses have united in a plea addressed to the Executive Director of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences.

Highlighting the current absence of a local testing facility, the students argue that this geographical gap disproportionately affects Manipuri candidates, exacerbating socio-economic challenges compounded by recent communal tensions.

The financial strain and logistical hurdles of traveling outside the state for mandatory exams have been highlighted, particularly impacting those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

In their representation, the students emphasized the presence of numerous government and private medical institutions within Manipur, advocating for equitable access to educational opportunities.

They have urged swift action from authorities to rectify the lack of an Imphal-based exam center, stressing its critical role in ensuring fair and accessible pathways for all aspiring medical professionals across the state.

The appeal resonates with broader aspirations for inclusivity and accessibility in educational assessments, highlighting the students’ determination to secure equitable opportunities for Manipuri candidates pursuing careers in dentistry.
