In a celebration of artistic talent and environmental consciousness, students from across Noney District recently showcased their creativity at a District Level On-spot Painting Competition yesterday.
Organized by the Divisional Forest Officer of Noney Forest Division in collaboration with the Manipur Biodiversity Board, the event coincided with the International Day for Biological Diversity, 2025.
Held at Domini English School, Longmai-3, the competition aimed to foster a deeper understanding of nature and sustainable development among the youth.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various schools within the district. Under the theme “Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development,” participants demonstrated their insights into the importance of biodiversity and its impact on life on Earth.
Daisinlung Phaomei, a talented student from Domini English School Longmai-3, claimed the top honors, securing the first position with a captivating portrayal of ecological harmony. Pousiamlung Gangmei of St. Joseph School Khumji and George Malingmei of Domini English School Longmai-3 secured the second and third positions, respectively, impressing the judges with their artistic interpretations.
Additionally, R. Son Riamroi from Children Training School Longmai-3 and Teresa Kamei from St. Joseph School Khumji received consolation prizes for their commendable efforts in highlighting environmental stewardship through their artwork.
