Feb. 4, 2025:Based on intelligence about extortion activities in Ningthoukhong, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police, CRPF, and local authorities conducted a search operation at Ningthoukhong Ward Nos. 1 and 13.
The operation, led by the DSP and Inspector of Bishnupur Commando, took place from 6:30 am to 7:30 am.
During the search, a suspect identified as Pukhrambam Prem Singh (47) from Ningthoukhong Ward No. 13 was detained.
He revealed that he had joined RPF/PLA in 1998, undergoing six months of BMT training in Myanmar, and confessed to extorting a total of ₹1,20,000 from the public and government officials in Nambol, Bishnupur, and Ningthoukhong areas in September 2024, according to police sources.
Items seized from him included three mobile phones, one wallet, ₹320 in cash, a driving license, a PAN card, an Aadhaar card, a UCO Bank debit card, and an Airtel Payment Bank card. The seized items were handed over to Bishnupur Police for further action.
