Acting on a specific input, one militant camp of KCP (PWG), located in the forest areas of Uyok Ching in Heirok Part-III of Thoubal district, has been busted in an operation conducted this morning by a team of Thoubal Police.
In the said 5-hour-long operation from 4 to 9 AM, the team also destroyed the camp and recovered weapons, live ammo, tear gas shells, bullet-proof jackets, combat fatigue, disposable syringes, medicine items, and 3 four-wheeler vehicles, including one Tata Safari and 2 Gypsy without registration. And during the operation, some miscreants suspected to be KCP (PWG) group members also fired upon the team and left the spot upon retaliation.
The ops was carried out under the supervision of SP Thoubal and the 12-team of Police led by ASP (Ops), including teams of DSP (HQ) and OC-CDO/TBL.
The recovered items include 1 (one) no. of SLR bearing body number EC 7521, 1 (one) no. of 12 Bore Single Barrel bearing body number VS 28549, 1 (one) no. of LMG Magazine, 21 (twenty-one) nos. of 7.62mm ammunition, 14 (fourteen) nos. of blank cartridges, and 3 (three) nos. of Kartogs, 1 (one) no. of firing pin, 8 (eight) nos. of Tear Smoke Shell (SR), 11 (eleven) nos. of Tear Smoke Shell (N), 1 (one) no. of Tear Smoke Shell (Chilli), 3 (three) nos. of Stun Shell, 3 (three) nos. of B.P. Jacket with 2 plates, 2 (two) nos. of camouflage trousers, 14 (fourteen) nos. of camouflage shirts, 4 (four) nos. of camouflage bags, 2 (two) nos. of black school bags, 4 (four) nos. of camouflage pickups, 1 (one) no. of sleeping bag, 2 (two) nos. of jungle boots, 1 (one) no. of black sport shoes, 12 (twelve) nos. of Betadine, 16 (sixteen) nos. of syringes, 4 (four) nos. of I-V sets, 80 (eighty) nos. of Paracetamol tablets, 1 (one) no. of cotton, 7 (seven) nos. of blankets, 3 (three) nos. of jars, 3 (three) nos. of buckets, 1 (one) no. of batty, and 2 (two) nos. of milk bottles, 1 (one) no. of notice board, 1 (one) no. of TATA SAFARI white in colour bearing regd. number MN07L 1464 and 2 (two) Gypsy without registration number.
