DEC 20, 2025 (IMP): Mortar shells, believed to be left behind or hidden by armed-group operating along the Molnoi area of Tengnoupal district, has turned three (3) children into a collateral victim, where in two injured minors, in today’s afternoon (1:30 pm) explosion at Molnoi, are just 8 years old boy and another one is 10-year boy.
The injured children were playing at the site, and believed to have come across and handle the the explosive shell unknowingly. The exploded shell, is believed to be 51 mm mortal, just went off at the yard of the one of the injured minors Ngamguang Haokip (8) son of late Haokholen Haokip from Molnoi Village. And other two children injured has been identified Henugao Baite (10) son of Dauthanglen Baite and Jamgunsei Baite (8) Dauthanglen Baite of the same village, now being treated at Army Hospital in Pallel.
The 26 AR Sector HQ rushed to the spot and took them immediately at Pallel’s army hospital for medical treatment to save the injured children’s life. The situation is being closely monitored now, and the security forces is on high alert to prevent any further incidents, says reports reaches out here.
Earlier, in August 2024 in Molnoi area, there has been reports of fierce gunfight between Kuki-Zo village volunteers and the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF), an insurgent group under a Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement. Reports says at least four died in fierce gun fight, and led to torch a house belonging to UKLF’s Chief later.
