In order to prevent any potential breach of peace and tranquility in the Tamenglong District of Manipur, the District Magistrate Tamenglong has ordered immediate prohibition on assembly of people, rally or gathering of five or more persons within the Tamenglong headquarters area until further orders.
The order, issued under Section 163 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, also restricted movement of people, stating that “no person shall carry any arms, ammunition, or explosive substances in the Tamenglong headquarters area” immediately.
The order was immediately issued after the possibility of violence eruption in the district with respect to a boundary dispute between old Tamenglong villagers and Dallong Village.
