A large group of people from Tamenglong, Tousem, and Tamei Subdivisions jointly vented their discontentment through a mass rally at the district HQ area over the government’s neglect and subsequent failure to address various issues faced by the people of the district.
The state government is yet to clear a 2-month backlog of NFSA rations for the people of the areas, according to information. Other issues include delays in the MGNREGA materials component, a shortage of staff at Tamenglong District Hospital, half-finished construction of the GNM institute, and an erratic power supply.
A joint memorandum has also been submitted to the DC, drawing the attention of the Manipur Governor by at least six civil organizations of the district, namely ZMCM, RNCM-TL, LNCM-TZ, INU-TZ, and CSAT JYWA. The memorandum also asked the state administration to address their plight within 5 days.
