Teacher from Manipur among 45 Selected for National Teachers’ Awards 2025

Among the 45 exceptional educators from across the country selected for the ‘National Teachers’ Awards 2025,’ Koijam Machasana of Manipur has been chosen for the prestigious award for her contribution to enriching education and student lives.

Koijam Machasana, an Arts Graduate Teacher from Ghari Upper Primary School, had earlier received the State Level Teacher’s Award in 2023 and was nominated for the National Conference on School Leadership in 2025, highlighting her commitment to foundational literacy, inclusivity, and community engagement.

Altogether, seven teachers from the region have been selected for the prestigious award, announced by the Ministry of Education’s Department of School Education and Literacy. The awards will be presented by President Droupadi Murmu on September 5 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

From the NE states, the awardees include Nang Ekthani Mounglang from Arunachal Pradesh, who defies mountain terrain to deliver education; Peleno Petenilhu of Nagaland; Karma Tempo Ethenpa from PM SHRI Mangan SSS of Sikkim; Dr. Heipor Uni Bang from Meghalaya; Bidisha Majumder from Tripura; and Debajit Ghosh from Assam.
