Teachers’ Day Celebrated in Heirok AC; MLA Radheshyam Announces ‘Mission Education’

Teachers’ Day was celebrated at Heirok Higher Secondary School on Friday, organised by Mangal Foundation Heirok in collaboration with the school, to honour the invaluable service and contribution of government teachers in Heirok AC. The occasion marked the birth anniversary of India’s second President, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, observed nationwide as Teachers’ Day.

MLA of Heirok AC and former Education Minister of Manipur, Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam, attended as chief guest. In his address, he emphasized the crucial role of teachers in shaping both academic and moral growth of children. “Teachers play a crucial role in inspiring students to become good human beings. It is essential to provide proper guidance, encouragement, and motivation so that none of our children are left behind,” he said.

He further expressed his commitment to improving education in the constituency, highlighting Heirok’s potential and the need for collective effort. “As MLA, I will work towards strengthening the education sector in Heirok AC. Our hardworking teachers must continue their support so that Heirok becomes an exemplary constituency in the field of education,” he added.

During the program, Ningthoujam Kameshor, member of Mangal Foundation Heirok, announced the upcoming launch of “Mission Education” under the leadership of MLA Radheshyam. The initiative aims to drive educational development in Heirok, with today’s Teachers’ Day celebration serving as its first step.

The event also featured performances by students, as well as talent showcases by teachers from various schools of the constituency, reflecting the diverse capabilities of the community.
