Tengnoupal DCPU Uplifts 60 Vulnerable Children Under Mission Vatsalya

In an effort to safeguard child welfare and promote inclusive development, the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Tengnoupal, successfully conducted a two-day Sponsorship Distribution Programme under the central Mission Vatsalya scheme.

Held on July 28 and 29 at the DC Conference Hall, Tengnoupal Headquarters, and Kangshim village in Machi Block, the programme extended financial aid to 60 vulnerable children across the district.

Graced by the Deputy Commissioner of Tengnoupal, along with the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) and members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), the event aimed to address the educational and basic living needs of children requiring care and protection.

In his keynote address, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged the beneficiaries and their guardians, noting that the sponsorship aid was part of a larger mission to ensure the holistic well-being of every child. He assured families of continued administrative support and urged them to proactively seek assistance when needed.

The DCPO highlighted that the funds were to be used exclusively for the child’s education, healthcare, and development. He added that the DCPU would closely monitor fund utilization through field visits and community coordination to ensure transparency and effectiveness.

A special interaction session followed the distribution, during which the Deputy Commissioner spent over an hour personally engaging with the children. The session brought to light their aspirations, daily struggles, and dreams for the future, leaving a lasting impression on both officials and participants.

This initiative falls under DCPU Tengnoupal’s ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots child protection systems and build a safer, more supportive environment for children under Mission Vatsalya.
