Tensions Rise as India Tests Missiles Amid India-Pakistan Conflict

April 28, 2025: In a show of military prowess amidst escalating tensions with Pakistan, India’s navy conducted successful missile tests aimed at demonstrating readiness for “long-range, precision offensive strikes.”

The tests follow a deadly terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, prompting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to vow a “harsh response.”

The Indian Navy’s recent anti-ship missile firings underscore New Delhi’s heightened military preparedness in the wake of the Kashmir attack, the deadliest targeting civilians in the region in 25 years. Modi, in his efforts to garner international support, reiterated India’s stance and promised decisive action against those responsible.

Tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors have surged, with both nations trading accusations and retaliatory measures. India has accused Pakistan of supporting the attackers, leading to diplomatic expulsions, visa cancellations, and the suspension of key agreements.

In response, Pakistan has closed airspace, expelled Indian diplomats, and emphasized its commitment to peace while defending its position on Kashmir.

The situation has intensified along the Line of Control in Kashmir, where both Indian and Pakistani forces have exchanged fire.

India’s strategic moves, including media advisories against live military broadcasts and crackdowns on suspected militants in Kashmir, have further fueled speculation about potential military actions.
