March 7, 2025: The students’ apex body of all Thadou tribes in Manipur, the Thadou Students’ Association (TSA), has vehemently condemned the threat and intimidation issued by the Chin-Kuki armed militant group United Kuki National Army (UKNA) against the Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) and its leaders.
The UKNA, a non-SoO group with the government, issued a statement signed by its defense secretary, threatening the Thadou tribe to withdraw their decision from making any peace declaration along with the Meitei group, which is set to be declared today in New Delhi.
The TSA said Thadou “denounces the UKNA’s attempts to dictate terms and impose their will on the Thadou people. We assert our right to self-determination, freedom of expression, and association.”
It also urged the UKNA to refrain from issuing threats and instead engage in constructive dialogue to resolve any differences.
Meanwhile, during the current President’s Rule, it is essential for the authorities to take decisive action against anti-peace and anti-social elements that have been perpetuating violence and disrupting harmony.
