The Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) conducted the Thang-Ta Common Examination across nine centres, formed by selecting schools from among Manipur’s registered Thang-Ta institutions.
Around 1,400 young practitioners from various schools across the state appeared in the examination.
Speaking on the initiative, KIMACS Education Secretary K. Shyamkumar said the organisation has been conducting the common exam for several years to create a uniform and standardised evaluation system, similar to exams conducted by BOSEM and COHSEM. He said the move was aimed at ensuring credible progression for students undergoing Thang-Ta training.
During Sunday’s exam, instructors from participating Thang-Ta schools undertook major responsibilities, ensuring smooth and well-coordinated conduct of the test.
KIMACS also acknowledged the support and dedication of teachers and schools in successfully organising the state-level examination.
