Thanga MLA Robindro Singh Meets Governor, Calls for Calm and Sensitivity Amid Ongoing Tensions

Thanga Assembly Constituency MLA, Tongbram Robindro Singh, met with Manipur Governor, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan today to raise a series of long-pending developmental concerns and discuss the current situation in the state. The meeting, which took place at 11:50 AM, was a significant opportunity for Robindro to bring attention to issues that he feels have been overlooked by the previous administration.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Robindro expressed his gratitude for the Governor’s time and for granting him the appointment. He noted that the Governor had listened attentively to his concerns, particularly regarding unresolved demands that have been affecting the constituency. He emphasized that the Governor took careful note of the issues raised during their conversation, though he refrained from commenting on the specifics or timeline of any potential resolutions.

On the political situation in the state, Robindro remained cautiously optimistic but chose not to speculate on the return of a popular government. “It would not be proper for me to say anything on that. But I believe it may come soon,” he remarked, hinting at a sense of hope for a stable political environment in the near future.

The MLA also addressed the ongoing tensions surrounding the recent vandalism and arson at the residence of Asker Ali Makakmayum, president of the BJP Minority Morcha, in Lilong. He called the incident “very sensitive” and highlighted the need for careful handling of such matters. Acknowledging the unrest caused by the attack, which was widely circulated on social media, he stated that while efforts were made to resolve the issue and prevent similar occurrences, it was unfortunate that they were unable to stop the violence. “We must handle such issues with care and in line with the sentiment of the people,” he added, reflecting the delicate nature of the situation.
