Thangkhul Music Festival 2025 Ends on a High Note; Echoes of Peace Resound in Manipur Hills

The picturesque Ramrei Eco Tourism Park in Kamjong district turned into a vibrant cultural arena as the Thangkhul Music Festival 2025 (TMF-2025) wrapped up on November 1 with overwhelming public participation and a strong message of peace.

Organised by the Tangkhul Music Forum in collaboration with local communities and supported by the Indian Army, the two-day festival was held under the theme “Echoes of Peace.”

According to the organisers, the festival aimed at promoting peace, reviving cultural ties, and fostering unity among communities through music and art. The event was compered by Phapha Gachui, former Miss Manipur 2016, and opened with a prelude by Chanmayo Kashung, followed by a flag hoisting ceremony led by Padma Shri Guru Rewben Mashangva.

A series of cultural presentations by the Tangkhul Naga Valley Students’ Association, Haola Ramrei Shanao Long, and a special showcase by the Indian Army highlighted the festival’s spirit of normalcy, shared identity, and communal harmony.

The festival featured electrifying performances from a line-up of popular Tangkhul artists and bands, including Ngathingpam, Shangmathing, PC Makang, Bruno, Yuiliechan, Feather Heads, Yung Yung, Chikam, Uttam, and others, drawing enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

The event was attended by Maj Gen SS Kartikeya, GOC Red Shield Division, who, while felicitating the performers and organisers, appreciated the brigade’s initiative in conceptualising the festival and acting as a catalyst for cultural revival.
