APRIL 7, 2026 (IMP): Widespread condemnation has poured in against the mortar bomb attack that killed two children at Tronglaobi today. Manipur CM Y. Khemchand, along with MLA T. Robindro, rushed to the hospital where the injured mother is being treated.
“Those responsible will be identified, hunted down, and dealt with firmly under the law. Such acts of terror will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” CM Khemchand said in his social media post.
Meanwhile, Manipur Home Minister K. Govindas, condemning the fresh attack, wrote, “Such brutality will not be tolerated. The matter is under active investigation, and all necessary steps are being taken to ensure that those responsible are swiftly identified and brought to justice in accordance with the law.”
Meanwhile, the MLA of Keisamthong AC, Sapam Nishikant Singh, expressed that the incident is not merely a crime but a direct attack on humanity and a cruel attempt to tear apart the fragile peace of Manipur. He added that such inhuman acts are clearly aimed at spreading fear, hatred, and division among the people.
“Those behind such atrocities are not just criminals; they are enemies of Manipur’s unity. They are trying to break our state, to divide our people, and to destroy the harmony that binds us together,” MLA Nishikant also said in his post, expressing grief and sorrow for those lost in the terror attack.
