THOUBAL JANUARY 26, 2026(DIO/DIPR): The District Administration Thoubal, celebrated 77th Republic Day today at the Chaoyaima Hr. Sec. School Ground. Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal Smt. Yumnam Robita, IAS, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute of March past contingents led by Parade Commander Harsavarthan V, IPS (Probationer). All together twentyseven (27) contingents including police, School students, NCC, Self help group members of MSRLM, ASHA Workers and various cultural troupes participated in the march past.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Smt Y. Robita express deep gratitude to the leaders who gave the Constitution, ensuring justice, liberty, and equality for every citizen.
Highlighting the various achievements, Deputy Commissioner said District Administration has prioritized the resettlement and support of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The District Administration in coordination with the Manipur State Commission for Women, continue to help the women and children in relief camps, ensuring they receive regular skill development training to sustain their livelihoods and ensure that every citizen can return to a life of dignity and stability.
In the Health sector, the District has implemented various programs. Four Thousand Two Hundred and Seventy One (4,271) beneficiaries under Chief Minister-Gi Hakshelgi Tengbang has been enrolled for 2025 year and a total number of Five Thousand Six Hundred and Eighteen (5,618) beneficiaries received treatment under the scheme. Under PMJAY Six Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty One (6,431) beneficiaries have been enrolled. Two Hundred and Sixty Six (266) ASHA workers have been able to perform 88.9% of Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) under the National Vector born Disease control Program in the district.
In the field of agriculture the District has made various progress. Under the National Food Security Mission (NFSM), quality planting materials and micronutrients were distributed. Under the Rashtriya Agriculture Development Programme (RADP), One Hundred Forty Five (145) farmers received targeted assistance aimed at strengthening agricultural infrastructure and improving farm productivity. Under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture, Four Hundred and Eight (408) farmers have benefited and under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana(PMKSY) One Hundred Sixty Eight (168) farmers have been benefited with Water Pump set with sprinkler irrigation system and construction of Farm Ponds etc.
She said Thoubal District has completed digitization of Ration Card management where issuance of new Ration Card, New licence, modification, deletion and addition of Ration Card are done completely online and the District has achieved 100% Aadhaar Seeding of Ration Cards.
Regarding Education, the District has achieved various milestones. In the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (Class X) conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM), pass percentage for government schools students in the district was 97.3% in 2025, exceeding the state average of 82.32% reflecting the collective efforts of teachers, administrators, and the community. Student enrolment in elementary classes across government schools has steadily increased over the last two-three academic years, signalling growing trust and confidence among parents in public education. She said the young students are the architects of Viksit Bharat.
She said initiatives like Model Youth Gram Sabha are designed to nurture our civic sense and leadership. She encourages using the digital tools and educational opportunities provided to the students to innovate and serve the society. As citizens, our responsibility does not end with unfurling the Flag. True patriotism lies in fulfilling our daily duties with honesty. Deputy Commissioner said let us encourage participation in local cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and digital literacy campaigns. Let us all call for maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood within the district. She appealed to all the people of the district that let us pay our deepest respects to the soldiers guarding our borders and the police personnel keeping our district safe.
