Thoubal DC Orders Removal of Unauthorised Structures by July 30

The District Administration of Thoubal has issued a public order directing the removal of all unauthorised structures, including house extensions, shops, sheds, and other temporary or permanent encroachments built in public areas and town spaces within the district.

According to the order issued by Deputy Commissioner Hannah Kahmei, these unauthorised constructions are causing public inconvenience, obstructing traffic, and posing safety hazards to commuters. The administration has invoked Section 3 of the Manipur Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1978, to take action.

Encroachers and concerned individuals have been given a deadline of July 30, 2025, to voluntarily remove all such structures, items, and debris. The DC warned that failure to comply will result in strict penal action, including eviction and demolition by the District Administration, District Police, and other concerned departments. All costs incurred for removal will be borne by the encroachers.

The Deputy Commissioner has urged immediate public cooperation to ensure safety, order, and accessibility in public spaces across Thoubal district.
