Thoubal District VDF Welfare Association Organised Fellowship and Interaction Programme

Thoubal, Feb 14: The Thoubal District VDF Welfare Association organised a fellowship and interaction programme with senior police officials, including IGP Jogeshchandra Haobijam and SP Thoubal Manoj Prabhakar, at the Khongjom War Memorial Complex on Saturday.

The event aimed to foster a stronger relationship between VDF personnel and police officers, ultimately contributing to the maintenance of law and order in Manipur.

During the event, SP Manoj Prabhakar expressed his appreciation for the tireless efforts of VDF personnel in maintaining peace and stability in the district. He acknowledged the crucial role played by VDF personnel in supporting the police force and encouraged them to continue their good work.

Md. Idris, President of the Thoubal District VDF Welfare Association and General Secretary of the All Manipur VDF Employees Welfare Committee, highlighted the demands of VDF personnel, including increased honorarium and better facilities. He thanked the Governor of Manipur and the Manipur Government for enhancing the honorarium and assured that the association would continue to work closely with the police to maintain peace and order in the district.

The association also announced that the death benefit assistance provided to the bereaved families of VDF personnel under Thoubal district has been enhanced by Rs 50,000, thereby increasing the total amount to Rs 3 lakhs. The same has been officially approved by SP Thoubal, and the benefit will come into effect from the upcoming 17th VDF Raising Day celebration, which falls on March 6, 2026.

Md. Idris also urged VDF personnel to remain committed to their duties and work together with the police to ensure the safety and security of the community.

The event concluded with a call to strengthen the bond between VDF and police personnel, with a focus on collaborative efforts to maintain law and order in the state.
