Feb. 13, 2025: A significant One-Day Training of Trainer (TOT) program for volunteers of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was held today at the Election Counting Hall, Thoubal DC Office Complex, as part of the nationwide initiative to combat substance abuse.
The event, aimed at strengthening the fight for a drug-free India, was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), and the State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) of Manipur.
The session, led by Dr. A. Jayanta Kumar, Director of SLCA Manipur, included expert talks from key figures such as Inspector Oinam Inaobi Singh, 2nd OC of Lilong Police Station, and Senior Psychiatrist Dr. Khangembam Robindro Singh, a National and International Awardee.
Their valuable insights shed light on the impact of substance abuse and the ways volunteers can contribute to spreading awareness.
Highlighting the role of youth in the success of this initiative, Kangujam Nongpoknganba Salaicha, District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) of Thoubal, emphasized that youth engagement is key to building a drug-free society.
He stressed the importance of the campaign in creating lasting change and noted the significant strides made by Thoubal District in supporting the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The event also marked the launch of a signature campaign to garner support for the mission, spearheaded by DC Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash Singh. SP Thoubal Sarangthem Ibomcha, DFO Thoubal, and ZEO Thoubal were among the distinguished officials who endorsed the initiative.
In addition, the unveiling of T-shirts for Master Trainers highlighted the ongoing commitment to the campaign’s goals.
With growing momentum in Thoubal and across Manipur, the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan continues to inspire communities to stand united for a drug-free future.
