The Sardar@150 Padyatra – Unity March for Thoubal district was formally launched today at the Khongjom War Memorial Complex, led by MP Leishemba Sanajaoba alongside Deputy Commissioner Hannah Kahmei, Superintendent of Police Manoj Prabhakar M., and My Bharat Manipur State Director L. Marjit Singh.
The initiative, organised by the Thoubal District Administration under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports with support from My Bharat Thoubal and the NSS Cell, Manipur, drew an energetic turnout from students, volunteers, and members of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Addressing the gathering, the MP noted that similar unity marches are being held across the country to observe the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, recognised for his role in integrating the nation. He highlighted the responsibility of young people in shaping India’s future and encouraged them to pursue discipline and values rooted in national unity.
Prior to the flag-off, participants took an Atmanirbhar Bharat pledge. The event saw attendance from hundreds of students across schools and colleges, NCC cadets, police personnel, and district-level officials.
