Feb 13, 2026 (TBL): The Thoubal Police Station launched a fresh drive against drugs, including peddlers and users, from Friday. On the first day of the crackdown, it detained four users, who have now been referred to rehabilitation centres for treatment.
The police team, at around 3:22 pm, in consultation with the Social Welfare Department, detained two youths (users) from the Imphal area—one from Khagem Pali Huidrom Leikai and another from Keishamthong Longjam Leirak—and later referred one to IRCA, a rehabilitation centre near the Khongjom Complex in Thoubal. Later, two youths from Bishnupur Ward No. 2 and another from Keirao Makha Leikai were handed over to the Project Coordinator, Anouba Mangal Rehabilitation Centre, Khuman Lampak, according to the report.
The Thoubal District Police will continue the crackdown against any drug-related activity in the district.
