Imphal, April 12, 2026 : Protest rallies and sit-in demonstrations continued on Sunday across various parts of the Manipur valley, condemning the brutal killing of two babies in a bomb blast at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai in Bishnupur district last Tuesday. Hours after the incident, three more protesters were reportedly killed in firing near a CRPF camp close to Tronglaobi.
In Uripok, Imphal West, a large number of people took to the streets, holding a massive rally and raising slogans against the killings. Similarly, in Sangakpham Bazar and Khurai Lamlong, Imphal East, many residents staged protests while security forces remained on alert, monitoring the situation.
Expressing anger and grief, protesters demanded justice for the victims’ families and questioned how long the government would continue to tolerate such inhumane acts against innocent children and civilians.
