October 22, 2025: A large number of people gathered at Bakshi Ground in Hungpung, Ukhrul district, Manipur, to welcome and witness the homecoming programme of NSCN (IM) General Secretary Ato Kilonser Thuingaleng Muivah.
The 91-year-old Naga leader Thuingaleng Muivah, who hails from Somdal village in Ukhrul, is all set to set foot in his birthplace after 50 long years and is expected to arrive from Dimapur by helicopter. Muivah will address a public gathering at Bakshi Ground, Ukhrul, before flying 25 km west to Somdal for a week-long stay. He is scheduled to depart via Senapati on October 29.
Top leaders of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) have already arrived at Ukhrul headquarters to welcome Th. Muivah. Enoli Pakahao Muivah, wife of Th. Muivah, has also reached Ukhrul headquarters on Tuesday.
Other leaders present include V.S. Atem, Deputy Ato Kilonser; Rh. Raising, Member of the Collective Leadership and Special Emissary to the Collective Leadership; General Ningkhan Shimray, Longvibu of the Naga Army; Rev. Seksim Kasar, General Secretary of the Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC); Rev. Puni Mao, Member of the Collective Leadership; and Hutovi Chishi, Convenor of the Steering Committee.
