Thousands of devotees thronged the Hiyangthang Lairembi Temple on Tuesday to observe the sacred ‘Bor’ Puja of the Mera lunar month.
The Puja, dedicated to Goddess Hiyangthang Lairembi, also known as Irai Leima, saw worshippers from across the state seeking blessings for harmony, prosperity, and peace. The ritual, deeply rooted in tradition, is revered for its spiritual significance and is believed to bring positivity and collective well-being.
Many devotees offered heartfelt prayers for lasting peace in Manipur. “We have all gathered here with one wish — that peace returns to our land. The goddess has always guided us, and today we pray for unity among the people of Manipur,” said Thoibi Devi, a devotee from Imphal West.
Another devotee, Nganbi Singh from Bishnupur, shared, “This Puja is not just about rituals, but about our hope for a better tomorrow. We want the violence and unrest to end, and for Manipur to once again be known for its culture, faith, and harmony.”
