JUNE 13, 2026 (UKHRUL): Holding flickering candles in their hands, thousands of Tangkhul Nagas in Manipur’s Ukhrul district came together at the Town Hall on Saturday to honour, pray, and collectively grieve for the six Nagas who were allegedly mercilessly murdered after being abducted by suspected Kuki militant men.
The candlelight vigil at Ukhrul Town Hall was jointly organised by Tangkhul civil society organisations (CSOs), namely the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL), Tangkhul Katamnao Long (TKL), and Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL).
The bodies of the six Nagas, who were abducted on May 13, were recovered in a mutilated state, beyond recognition and in pieces.
