30 April, 2025: Acting on a tip-off, the security forces arrested three Chin-Kuki Mizo Army (CKMA) members with arms and ammunition along the Indo-Myanmar Border, from Phaitsat in Myanmar.
The operation was carried out on Tuesday. The security forces also stated that the arrested CKMA members were involved in facilitating drug deals across the border.
The arrested persons have been identified as Lunkhohau (48) of Kuwan, Sangaikot, Churachandpur District; Jamhon Haokip (30) of Leajangphai, Churachandpur District; and Ngamboi Mate (28) of Laijang, Churachandpur District.
The security forces recovered 01 (one) 7.62 mm AK-47, 01 (one) 9 mm pistol (country-made), 01 (one) 0.22 mm single-shot rifle (country-made), 2 (two) AK-47 magazines, 01 (one) 9 mm pistol magazine (country-made), 50 (fifty) 7.62 mm AK-47 live rounds, 05 (five) 9 mm pistol live rounds (country-made), 15 (fifteen) 0.22 mm single-shot rifle live rounds, 03 (three) radio sets (Baofeng), 02 (two) mobile phones, 02 (two) khukris, 02 (two) Kenbo bikes, 02 (two) sunglasses, cash (Indian currency) – Rs 630 (500×1, 100×1, 20×1, 10×1), 01 (one) watch, and 01 (one) Aadhaar card.
