Three KCP(PWG) Members Arrested in Manipur During Intelligence-Based Operations

In a major breakthrough against extortion activities, Manipur Police have intensified intelligence-based combing operations and cordon and search operations across the state. These efforts aim to nab individuals involved in unlawful activities and maintain public order.

During one such operation on April 26, 2025, police arrested three active members of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) [KCP(PWG)] from Liwa Road under Singjamei Police Station, Imphal West District.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Md. Maneruddin (48) of Lilong Haoreibi Lou Manga, Thoubal District,
  • Md. Wajbir Ahamed @ Jimi (33) of Lilong Sambrukhong, Thoubal District, and
  • Thongam Joynanda Singh @ Boicha (51) of Khongnangpheidekpi Aheibam Leikai, Imphal West District.

Police also seized several items from their possession, including three mobile handsets, two wallets, two Aadhaar cards, a sum of Rs. 650, and one two-wheeler.

Security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying operations to curb extortion and other illegal activities across the state.
