March 23, 2025 : Security forces arrested three active cadres of the proscribed outfit PREPAK (Pro) during an operation at Kumbi Terakhong under Kumbi Police Station, Bishnupur District.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Oinam Abung Meitei (31), Yumlembam Romesh Singh alias Ratan (47), and RK Navy Meitei (32).
During the operation, security personnel seized a significant cache of arms and ammunition from their possession, including a .303 Light Machine Gun (LMG), .303 LMG magazines, .303 live ammunition, 7.62 mm SLR live ammunition, 5.56 mm INSAS live ammunition, 7.62 mm AK live ammunition, Ballister cartridges, a No. 36 Hand Grenade key, grenade arm rings, .303 blank ammunition, a four-wheeler, and mobile phones.
Authorities believe the arrested individuals were involved in unlawful activities in the region. Further investigation is underway to determine their network and intentions.
