Three Tagged Amur Falcons from Tamenglong Now Tracking Across Africa

The three satellite-tagged Amur Falcons released earlier this month at the Chiuluan roosting site in Tamenglong have now reached different parts of Africa, according to tracking updates as of November 26.

Apapang, the male falcon, has reached Zambia, while Alang, a female, is currently in Tanzania. The third bird, Ahu, continues its journey and is presently in Somalia.

The birds were fitted with transmitters by the Tamenglong Forest Division in collaboration with the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) to study their long-distance migratory route.
