May 7, 2025: In a search and comb exercise carried out by security forces in three different places, the security forces have arrested three individuals, who are identified as active members belonging to three different proscribed UG outfits.
From the Yairipok Bazar area of Thoubal District, the security forces arrested one active member of RPF/PLA identified as Laishram Basanta Singh alias Ratan alias Ithoi (53), of Thoubal Wangkhem Mayai Leikai, Thoubal District.
From the Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar area, under the Hiyanglam Police Station of Kakching District, security forces also arrested one KCP (PWG) member identified as Elangbam Jogen Singh alias Sanathoi (43), of Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai, Kakching District.
Meanwhile, one KCP (Apunba) member was also arrested on the same day from Khongman Khagembam Leirak, Zone-V under Irilbung PS of Imphal East District. The arrested has been identified as Khangembam Joyson Meitei alias Loyumba alias Tondonba (28), of Khongman Khagembam Leirak, Zone-V, Imphal East District. According to police, the arrested person was involved in extortion of money from various schools and colleges located in the Imphal area.
