In a move likely to stir fresh attention in the ongoing land ownership discourse, the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has officially summoned the Chairman/Chief of Gwaltabi Kuki Village, alongside the Headman of Thawai/Thoyee Village, for a high-level meeting concerning the disputed land at Mahadev, located about 4 kilometers from Yaingangpokpi on NH-202.
As per the notice issued by Thanreingam Muivah, Additional Secretary of TNL, both village leaders have been directed to appear before the President of Tangkhul Naga Long at the organization’s Ukhrul headquarters on 19th May at 12 noon sharp.
The core agenda of the meeting is to thoroughly examine all relevant land documents and establish, beyond ambiguity, the titleship and ownership of the land in question.
The directive urges the Gwaltabi Kuki Village Chief and the Thawai/Thoyee Headman to arrive fully prepared, accompanied by one or two individuals well-versed in the land’s history and related documentation.
