In a significant step towards community-led development, Tonzang villagers on Tuesday adopted their Village Action Plan during a Gram Sabha convened at the Adi Sewa Kendra. The event was organized under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs’ flagship initiative, the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan, marking the fourth such meeting in Singngat Sub-Division.
The session, chaired by Village Authority Vice Chairman Kamminthang, outlined key infrastructure priorities and reflected the collective aspirations of the residents. Officials including SDC Rex Lengen, Block Master Trainers, Adi Sathis, Adi Sahiyogis, and representatives from various departments attended the meeting and interacted with villagers to address their queries.
Commending the village leadership, SDC Rex Lengen lauded the community’s active involvement and thoughtful approach in formulating the plan. He stated that while the proposal represents the genuine needs of the people, its implementation depends on approval from state and central authorities.
Tonzang is among four pilot villages selected under the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan in Singngat Block. With its endorsement complete, the Village Action Plan will now move to the District Nodal Office for assessment and onward submission to the concerned agencies.
