The Department of Education (Schools), Manipur, celebrated academic excellence today by hosting the highly anticipated Incentive Award Ceremony for students who excelled in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary Examination for the year 2024-25.
Held at the Manipur State Film Development Society Auditorium in Imphal, the event brought together top-performing students from across the state, who were recognized for their outstanding achievements in academics.
Chief Secretary of Manipur, Prashant Kumar Singh, graced the event as the Chief Guest and shared heartfelt experiences of his own school award ceremonies, highlighting the immense pride parents feel when their children succeed.
He commended the state’s incentive scheme, which was introduced in 2018 to encourage academic excellence, offering substantial financial rewards to the highest achievers.
At the state level, first to fourth position holders were awarded cash prizes of Rs. 5,00,000, Rs. 4,00,000, Rs. 3,00,000, and Rs. 1,00,000, respectively, while district-level awardees securing at least 70% marks received Rs. 50,000 for the first position and Rs. 25,000 for the second position.
The ceremony recognized five exceptional students as State Awardees. Among them, Aiena Naorem from Kakching Higher Secondary School topped the Commerce stream, while students from T.G. Higher Secondary School, including Sapam Langlel Chanu, who clinched 2nd position in Arts, and Khwairakpam Crosia Devi, who bagged 10th position in Arts, were also honored. Additionally, Kethallina Maisnam and Khwairakpam Jenita Devi, who secured impressive positions in Commerce, were recognized for their hard work and dedication.
In total, 58 district awardees were acknowledged, with 47 attending the ceremony in person and 11 joining virtually.
