Torch Rally Held in Nongpok Sekmai by Meira Paibis Condemning the Tronglaobi Incident

Thoubal, April 08 : Strongly condemning the incident in which two children were killed and their mother was seriously injured when Kuki narco terrorists bombed a house in Moirang Tronglaobi Awang Leikai, Bishnupur district, on the intervening night of April 6 and 7, a large number of Meira Paibis held a torch rally in Nongpok Sekmai, Thoubal district, on Tuesday night.

A large number of Meira Paibis from various villages, including Nongpok Sekmai, Ingourok, Hijam Khunou, Shikhong, Ukhongsang, and Shikhong Keithel, gathered at NESA Lampak in Nongpok Sekmai at 8 PM yesterday, after which the torch rally started from there.

Speaking about the rally, a Meira Paibi said that yesterday’s Tronglaobi incident is an event that deeply hurts the hearts of all mothers. The incident is very painful. The State and the Indian government must give exemplary punishment to the Kuki narco terrorists who indulge in such inhuman acts of killing innocent people, targeting women and children. The government must continue combing operations and arrest the culprits. Punishment must be given.

She further said that yesterday’s incident is not the first. Even earlier, killing Meiteis, kidnapping and killing people, changing place names, distorting history, cultivating poppy, and drug trafficking — these are all acts of Kuki narco terrorists.

What they are doing is not for seeking separate administration, nor is it to fulfill their desires. They are acting without any direction or purpose. They will kill their own people too, will kill and eliminate others too. Everyone already knows they have even tried to clash with Tangkhuls. They are a directionless group, like animals, she said.

If the Indian government continues to pamper the Kuki narco terrorists, it will bring great danger to us, she added. Right now, even Tangkhul brothers and sisters are saying that central forces are supporting the Kukis. Therefore, this is not the time for the State government to remain quiet. At this very critical time, the Chief Minister and the State Home Minister should sit together with all MLAs, take a decision, and meet PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to urge them to eliminate the Kuki narco terrorists, implement NRC at the earliest, and expel them from Manipur’s land. Otherwise, there will be no peace in Manipur, she stated.

During yesterday’s torch rally, people also shouted slogans such as “Completely eliminate Kuki narco terrorists,” “Arrest those responsible for the Tronglaobi incident,” “Implement NRC at the earliest,” and “No Census should be conducted before NRC.”
