20 March, 2025: During the 5-day-long ‘Yaoshang’ festival, the Manipur Traffic Police collected a total of Rs 9.94 lakhs in fines from those who violated traffic rules, and a total of 522 challans were issued during the festival for violations of road safety rules.
From March 1 to March 18, 2025, the Traffic Police Manipur also registered a total of 2,023 traffic violation cases, resulting in the collection of a total fine of Rs 35.94 lakhs from violators.
During the festival, the traffic wing of Manipur Police implemented extensive safety measures to protect both pedestrians and motorists. Special efforts were made to prevent incidents of drunken driving, triple-riding, underage driving, and dangerous stunts on two-wheelers.
Traffic police personnel were also seen strategically deployed at key intersections and high-risk areas throughout the district.
