In a heartbreaking incident, a 10-year-old boy lost his life in a road accident along the Thoubal–Yairipok road near Thoubal Kshetri Leikai Chanam Golai area on Sunday around 11 a.m.
According to reports, a DI Tata vehicle bearing registration number MN03D 3332 hit the young boy, killing him on the spot.
Police have identified the deceased as Waikhom Pibarel Angamba Meitei, son of Rasinanda, a resident of Thoubal Kshetri Leikai (Makha Leikai).
Following the tragic accident, personnel from Thoubal Police Station arrived at the scene, registered a case, and initiated an investigation. The police have also seized the vehicle and detained the driver involved in the incident.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
