Programme focused on early childhood care, education, and nutrition under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0
Kakching, August 31, 2025: The Kakching District Administration, in collaboration with the ICDS Cell, has successfully concluded a training programme for more than 400 Anganwadi Workers under the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi (PBPB) initiative. The programme is part of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
A total of 362 workers underwent training in batches starting from August 4, 2025, which concluded yesterday at the Library and Information Centre, Kakching. Another 100 workers had already completed the training in December last year.
The training covered Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), proper distribution of supplementary nutrition, and management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM), and Anaemia. Workers were also trained in two curriculum frameworks—Aadharshila for children aged 3–6 years, and Navchetana for children aged 0–3 years. Both frameworks emphasize inclusive learning, with special attention to differently-abled children.
The sessions highlighted the importance of nutrition and effective service delivery, encouraging participants to contribute with dedication to the well-being of women and children. The programme was conducted by Ningthoujam Parango Singh, Child Development Project Officer, ICDS Project (Kakching), with support from supervisors, inspectors, and other staff.
