A training programme titled “MN5.3 Brand Manipur: Training on Branding & Packaging” under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative was conducted on Friday at the Conference Hall of Kakching Municipal Council.
The programme was jointly organized by the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), Kolkata, the Directorate of Trade and Commerce, Government of Manipur, and the District Industries Centre (DIC), Thoubal.
During the inauguration, Dr. Nilay Kanti Pramanik, Deputy Director of IIP Kolkata, attended as the chief guest. Other key attendees included Soibam Nabakunja Singh, General Manager of District Industries Centre, Thoubal and Kakching District; Manipati Madam Mohon, Assistant Director of IIP Kolkata; and Salam Hemanta, Director of Iramdam Food and Beverages Industries Pvt. Ltd.
As expert resource persons, Gouri Shankar Behera from Grant Thornton and Jiban Khundrakpam, Branding Consultant from MANIPRO Branding Solutions, delivered training sessions.
The aim of the programme was to educate 30 food production units—both small-scale and large-scale—in Kakching District on modern packaging methods and effective branding strategies. The training highlighted the importance of improving packaging and branding practices to make local products more competitive in both national and international markets. Certificates were also distributed to the trainees.
