Training Programme on Mushroom and Lac Cultivation Held in Kakching

As part of the World Bank and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India–supported project Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP), a three-day training programme on mushroom and lac cultivation was organized on Friday by the Thoubal Forest Division at the Conference Hall of Kakching Range Office.

The programme was attended by Dr. L. Jeeceelee, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Thoubal, Kakching Range Officer Huidrom Sunder, and Wangoo Lamkhai Beat Officer L. Ramananda. Managing Director of MK Mushroom, Ksh. Prava, participated as a resource person and explained in detail the methods of mushroom and lac cultivation, highlighting the different techniques, their importance in livelihood generation, and their role in preserving biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance.

During the training, participants were also introduced to the various market avenues available for mushroom and lac products, as well as sustainable practices that farmers can adopt for long-term benefits.

Altogether, 40 farmers from villages including Keirak, Bijoypur, Tekcham, Tentha, and Waikhong took part in the training programme.
