As part of SEWA PARV being observed from September 17 to October 2, DFO/Chandel led a programme where 150 saplings were planted at Chandel Maha Area Chiefs Association Hall premises on Thursday.
Later,the participants,around 100 in number,took out a foot rally to spread awareness on forest and wildlife conservation among masses.
The SEWA PARV event witnessed the presence of Col Dr. Md. Akbar, 21 Assam Rifles, Dr. N. Munal Meitei, DFO/Chandel, Dr. BD. Thumdal Anal, Retired Principal United College, Chandel.
Speaking at the event, Dr. N. Munal Meitei, DFO/Chandel said SEWA PARV is a people’s movement to make Bharat a developed nation by 2047, reflecting love and care for mother earth.
On this occasion, at 6 locations of Chandel at least 1800 saplings will be planted, besides involving school children, awareness will be spread for collective responsibility towards environment conservation. Dr. N. Munal Meitei, DFO/Chandel appealed for people’s participation and support in Chandel for this occasion.
