Boxers from Manipur delivered an impressive performance at The Box Promotion event organised under the Indian Boxing Council (IBC), held on January 29 and 30 at Nawab Ali Park, Kolkata, bringing pride to the state on the national boxing stage.
In the title bout, Laishram Deep of Manipur defeated Punjab boxer Rajandeep to win the prestigious IBC Title Belt. Deep hails from Loitang Khunou and is the son of Laishram Binod and Laishram Dina Devi. He is a trainee of Aztecs Fight Studio, where he has been undergoing professional boxing training.
Adding to Manipur’s success, another state boxer, Jendeev Thingbaijam, secured a spectacular victory by knocking out Punjab boxer Surkhab Kamboj in the second round of their bout.
Jendeev is a resident of Lamphel and the son of Thingbaijam Bijen and Thingbaijam Ongbi Heitham Deepa. He is also trained under Aztecs Fight Studio.
