Manipur Police arrested two active cadres of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) in separate operations conducted in Imphal West District on April 21 and 22.
On April 22, police apprehended Tongbram Dolly Devi (20), an active member of KCP (Nongdrenkhomba), from Lamphel Super Market near Traffic Island. She hails from Kadangband Mayai Leikai under Lamshang Police Station and is currently residing at Uripok RIMS Road near Sangai Hospital, Imphal West District.
A day earlier, on April 21, another active cadre of KCP (People’s War Group) [KCP (PWG)], identified as Longjam Tony Singh (37) of Thangmeiband Polem Leikai, Imphal West District, was arrested from the Kekrupat area near Mangal Hospital under Imphal Police Station. He is reportedly involved in extortion activities, serving monetary demands and threats to the general public in and around the Imphal area. Two mobile handsets were seized from his possession during the operation.
Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of their activities and possible links to other operatives.
