Manipur Police arrested two individuals from different locations in Thoubal District for selling duplicate SIM cards without completing mandatory Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures, fully aware that the SIMs could be used for illegal activities,
The arrested individuals have been identified as Laishram Rajesh Singh @ Tomba (19), of Khangabok Part-III Khunou Leikai, who was apprehended from his residence under Thoubal Police Station, and Md. Nawaz Khan @ Wash Khan (27), of Sangaiyumpham Cherapur Mayai Leikai Part-II, who was arrested in front of a shop in the same locality, also under Thoubal Police Station,
During the operation, police seized four mobile handsets, two Aadhaar cards, and one side bag containing a notebook, forty-one new SIM cards, and a biometric fingerprint scanner,
Further investigation and legal proceedings are underway,
