In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, security forces intercepted a Creta car near Daili Village along NH-2 under Kangpokpi Police Station on June 5 and recovered suspected brown sugar concealed inside the vehicle.
A detailed search of the car led to the seizure of 75 soap cases containing suspected brown sugar, weighing a total of 2.88 kg (including packaging). The illicit items were found hidden inside the vehicle.
Two individuals were arrested in connection with the incident. They have been identified as M. Ngaiyu Vekhe and A. Dahnii Abraham, both residents of Thingba Khullen in Senapati District.
The arrested persons and seized contraband have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal action. Investigations are ongoing.
