Security forces arrested two active members of the proscribed outfit KCP (City Meitei) during operations in Imphal East District.
The first individual, identified as Yaikhom Kiran Meitei (28) of Phaknung Sangomshang, was apprehended from Phaknung Sangomshang Village under Lamlai Police Station. A mobile phone was seized from his possession.
Following up on the arrest, security personnel apprehended another member, Nongthombam Ratan Singh alias Tombi alias Lakpa (48) of Phaknung Awang Leikai, from Sawombung Kabui Khunjao, Lane No. 4. Two mobile phones were recovered from him.
Both individuals are allegedly involved in extorting money from various petrol pumps located in Imphal East. Investigations are underway.
