Thoubal, Dec 01 — Two prominent workers of Heirok Block Congress joined the BJP on Monday and lent support to Heirok AC BJP MLA Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam.
The two workers, Moirangthem Rajmohan from Heirok Part (I) Heitupokpi and Khundrakpam Amarjit from Heirok Part (I) Heitupokpi Mamang Leikai, were welcomed by MLA Radheshyam.
Moirangthem Rajmohan was a former candidate of Heirok Zilla Parishad and an active worker of the Congress party, and Amarjit was a member of Heirok Youth Block Congress.
The BJP Heirok Mandal organized a one-day mandal level workers’ conference-cum-reception ceremony at MLA Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam’s residence to welcome the new members.
In his speech, MLA Radheshyam thanked the new members for joining the BJP and stated that their joining would strengthen the party in Heirok AC. He also appealed to the people to work together to develop the constituency.
The MLA said, “We are united and will work together to bring development to Heirok AC. We will strive to make Heirok AC a model constituency. I welcome the new members and assure them that they will be given due respect and importance in the party.”
Moirangthem Rajmohan said, “I have been a Congress worker since 1972, but I have joined the BJP now because change is needed to bring development. I am confident that a great leader like Dr. Th. Radheshyam will bring positive change to Heirok AC,” he added.
The event was attended by Thokchom Chourjit, President of BJP Heirok Mandal, and other prominent party workers.
