Two Spiny Hill Turtles Rescued Near Indo-Myanmar Border

Security forces stationed along the Indo-Myanmar border successfully rescued two Spiny Hill Turtles from a location in Tengnoupal district on Monday.

Sources said the turtles were later transported to Pallel following the rescue operation. Subsequently, the reptiles were handed over to Kshetrimayum Johnson Singh, Secretary of the Wildlife Conservation Committee, Manipur, to ensure their proper rehabilitation and protection.

The timely intervention of the security personnel helped safeguard the endangered species, which is listed under the Wildlife Protection Act for its conservation importance.
