The Khwai Pungjaolakpa Branch of the Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO) observed its 5th Raising Day with a commemorative function held at Keishamthong, Imphal West, on Sunday.
Organised under the aegis of UFO Imphal West Headquarters No. 1, Langthabal Phuramakhong Battalion, in association with Meitei Huyen Langlon Sintam Shanglen (Satjal Academy), the programme witnessed participation from members across different units.
A key highlight of the event was the hoisting of the Lord Pakhangba-emblemed flag by the chief guest, following a solemn salute to Founder RK Manisana and President RK Sana-Parihal. Members offered salutes as a mark of respect.
Social worker Lourembam Ajit of Keishamthong Assembly Constituency attended the programme as the chief guest and addressed the gathering, emphasising unity, discipline, and the importance of preserving cultural values.
The function was also attended by Secretary General Y. Meiraba Angom, Thang-Ta Chief Instructor Nongmaithem Bijoy, battalion secretaries, commanders, and members from various branches.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary General Y. Meiraba Angom highlighted the vision and objectives of the organisation while calling for continued collective efforts in strengthening social responsibility and community engagement.
