July 18, 2026 : Ukhrul Forest Division was honoured with the “Maximum Number of Saplings Plantation – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam (EPMKN) 3.0” award during the State-Level Green Finale of the 77th Van Mahotsav Celebration 2026 held at the City Convention Centre, Imphal, on Saturday.
The division earned the recognition for planting 4,31,493 saplings between June 5 and July 14 under the nationwide Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0 campaign. The award was received by Divisional Forest Officer Laishram Gitla.
Expressing gratitude, the DFO credited the achievement to the collective efforts of the district administration, village authorities, NGOs, CSOs, educational institutions, churches, security forces, youth organisations, self-help groups, and local communities. She also urged the public to protect the planted saplings and replace any that do not survive to ensure the success of the plantation drive.
The award was presented during the programme attended by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho.
